Pezeshkian to Pakistani Army Chief: Past experience dictates utmost caution in talks with US
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized on Saturday that while Iran has practically demonstrated its commitment to international legal frameworks, the history and experience of negotiating with the United States dictate that Tehran must exercise the utmost precision and caution.

Tehran - BORNA - During his meeting on Saturday with Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, President Pezeshkian expressed his gratitude for the general's and the Pakistani government's efforts to foster regional stability and security.

"The people and officials of Pakistan are our brothers, and we hold a deep heart-felt devotion toward you," the President stated. "We Muslims are a single body and have no choice but unity. We must strive through cooperation to elevate our status and that of all Muslims worldwide."

He added: "It is my deep conviction that we must pursue the unity and solidarity of the Islamic world through practical solutions, and increasingly strengthen and expand our economic, social, political, and cultural interactions."

Iran seeks its legal rights amid deep mistrust of US

In another part of his remarks, President Pezeshkian stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran has practically proven its adherence to international legal frameworks. "We are solely seeking the fulfillment of the legitimate and legal rights of our nation, but the history and experience of negotiating with the Americans compel us to act with the highest level of precision."

Emphasizing that war has never benefited anyone, he asserted: "The United States will not be the victor in this conflict; rather, it is the countries of the region and the world that will incur severe losses. The Zionist regime is the only party seeking to secure its own interests in the region through war."

The President pointed to the Iranian public's deep mistrust of the United States due to its repeated breaches of commitments, attacks launched during negotiations, and the assassination of Iranian officials. "Under such circumstances, the Islamic Republic of Iran has entered the path of negotiation by relying on brotherly relations with friendly nations, including Pakistan. However, our main objective remains strictly securing the interests of the Iranian nation through expedient and appropriate mechanisms."

Pakistani Army Chief: Progress in talks is going well

For his part, the Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, Asim Munir, expressed satisfaction with the opportunity to meet the Iranian President again and conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes of Pakistan's Prime Minister and President to Pezeshkian.

"Fortunately, the negotiation process is progressing well," the Pakistani Commander noted.

Appreciating the Iranian President's views, Asim Munir added: "Israel seeks its interests in conflict and division among Muslims in the region. It harbors serious hostility toward anyone—including myself—who strives to resolve conflicts, and it has no desire to see stability and security established in the region."

Reiterating that his efforts are focused solely on establishing stability and preventing the continuation or recurrence of war and conflict in the region, the Pakistani Army Chief expressed hope that the ongoing negotiations would yield the desired results for Iran, as well as all nations and Muslims in the region, as quickly as possible.
