Attended likewise by Ambassador Jalali, this session focused extensively on the current geopolitical landscape, the military aggression launched by the United States and the Israeli regime against Iran, and the formulation of a new security equation in the region. The two sides further exchanged views on advancing mutual cooperation to promote peace, regional stability, and other pertinent bilateral and international issues of joint concern to Tehran and Moscow.

Talks’ success hinges on ending US extortion, Bagheri tells RIA Novosti
In a separate exclusive commentary to Russia's RIA Novosti news agency on the sidelines of the summit, Bagheri asserted that the ultimate success of any diplomatic negotiations remains strictly contingent upon the cessation of American extortion and excessive demands.
The Iranian official emphasized that there are absolutely no underlying problems between the Islamic Republic of Iran and its neighboring countries. Instead, he underscored that the true underlying crisis gripping the region stems directly from unilateral US interventions and the destabilizing presence and influence of the Zionist regime.
Reflecting on the geopolitical realities of the ongoing conflict, Bagheri noted that recent warfare demonstrated how the Strait of Hormuz has been exploited to forge a pathway threatening the national security of the Islamic Republic. Under such critical circumstances, he maintained that Iran, as an independent sovereign state, possesses the legitimate right to safeguard its national security and sovereignty, and will absolutely not permit any further violations or threats against its territory.
The deputy security chief further criticized Washington's geopolitical paradigm, stating that from the American perspective, peace is fundamentally synonymous with the realization and fulfillment of their own illegitimate interests.
Bagheri concluded his remarks to the Russian outlet by fiercely condemning the recent American military strike on a school in Minab. He remarked that the attack has laid bare the utterly fraudulent nature of Washington's human rights rhetoric, proving that the US places absolutely no value on human lives or fundamental human rights.
