Tehran Responds to Allegations in Arab League Foreign Ministers’ Meeting
The Iranian Foreign Ministry has rejected the claims and accusations raised against the Islamic Republic in the final communiqué of the Arab League Council of Foreign Ministers, issuing a strong response.

Tehran - BORNA - The ministry stated: “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran completely rejects the false allegations and baseless accusations made against Iran in the closing statement of the Arab League Council of Foreign Ministers. We call on member states of the Arab League to focus on Islamic-Arab unity in confronting the aggression and expansionism of the Zionist regime, and to refrain from any behavior or rhetoric that diverts regional and global attention from the central issue of the region and the Islamic world — namely the ongoing genocide in occupied Palestine.”

The statement reaffirmed Iran’s indisputable sovereignty over the islands of Abu Musa, Greater Tunb, and Lesser Tunb as “inseparable parts of Iran’s territorial integrity.” It stressed that repeating unfounded territorial claims in similar communiqués “will not alter the geographical, historical, or legal realities regarding these Iranian islands.” The ministry underlined that all measures on the three islands are carried out within Iran’s sovereign rights to safeguard their security, safety, and the national interests of the country.

The Foreign Ministry also dismissed as groundless the accusations of sending military shipments to Yemen and interfering in the country’s affairs, noting: “At a time when the Zionist regime, under full American support, continues genocide in occupied Palestine, engages in aggression and occupation in Syria and Lebanon, and carries out repeated terrorist attacks on Yemen, raising such baseless allegations — largely manufactured by the Zionist regime — does nothing to advance the interests of the Islamic Ummah.”

Reiterating Iran’s longstanding policy of good neighborliness, respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, and non-interference in the internal affairs of other states, the statement emphasized the importance of regional unity and avoiding divisive stances.

The ministry further stressed that Iran is “the most effective provider of maritime security in the Persian Gulf and regional and international waters, consistently ensuring the safe passage of ships and vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.” It noted that Iran will not hesitate to prevent any violations of its sovereignty while guaranteeing freedom of navigation in line with international law.

Highlighting the need for sustainable peace and stability in West Asia, the Persian Gulf, and the Sea of Oman, the Foreign Ministry reiterated Iran’s commitment to promoting regional cooperation free from destabilizing external interference.

The statement also welcomed the Arab League’s strong condemnation of the Zionist regime’s ongoing genocide in Gaza and its crimes against the Palestinian people, stressing the need for “effective and immediate measures, including halting all political, diplomatic, and economic relations with the occupying regime, to compel it to end its atrocities in occupied Palestine.”

Recalling Iran’s initiative since 1974 to establish a Middle East free of weapons of mass destruction, the ministry welcomed the Arab League’s reference to the grave nuclear threat posed by the Zionist regime and emphasized: “The realization of a nuclear-free zone in the region requires collective determination among regional states to pressure the international community — particularly the regime’s supporters — into adopting effective measures to free the region and the world from the threat of weapons of mass destruction possessed by this genocidal and aggressive regime.”
