Iran Condemns Violent Attack in Sydney, Australia
The Spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the violent attack that took place in Sydney, Australia, stating that terrorism and the killing of human beings are rejected and condemned wherever they occur.

Tehran - BORNA - Esmaeil Baghaei, Spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, issued a statement on X (formerly Twitter) following the violent incident in Sydney, Australia.

Baghaei wrote: "We condemn the violent attack in Sydney, Australia."

He added: "Terror and the killing of human beings are rejected and condemned wherever they occur."

Hebrew and Australian media reported today (Sunday) that a shooting occurred during a Jewish celebration at a Sydney beach.

The Premier of New South Wales, Australia, announced that at least 12 people were killed during the armed attack targeting the Jewish community at Bondi Beach.

The Prime Minister confirmed that state and federal authorities are investigating the event as a "terrorist incident," with initial evidence suggesting the attack specifically targeted the Jewish community on the first day of the Hanukkah celebrations.

The Israeli newspaper The Jerusalem Post reported that 10 people were killed and 60 others were severely injured in the shooting.

Australian media identified one of the armed assailants as "Narfid Akram," a resident of southwestern Sydney.
