Araghchi: Hostile Actions Against Iran Have Failed
Tehran - BORNA - Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, stated in an article published in an American media outlet: "The peaceful protests of the Iranian people turned into violence after a few days due to the intervention of domestic and foreign terrorist elements, and cutting off the internet was necessary to contain it." He further noted that "connectivity is gradually being restored."
In the article published in The Wall Street Journal, Araghchi pointed out that during these terrorist activities, police and civilians were targeted, and infrastructure, hospitals, and public places were destroyed. He wrote: "Normal life has now returned to the country."
Continuing his remarks and referring to U.S. President Donald Trump's interference in Iran's internal affairs, the Iranian Foreign Minister wrote: "Trump's threats against Tehran, aimed at dragging the U.S. into another war for the benefit of Israel, led to maximum bloodshed. The reference made by former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo regarding Mossad’s influence was an example of this trend."
The head of Iran's diplomacy added: "Tehran has always preferred peace over war and has been ready for a fair agreement. U.S. hostile actions, from sanctions to military attacks, have failed."
Emphasizing that any new attack against Iran will be met with a decisive response, Araghchi wrote: "The U.S. approach must change, and it must treat Iran based on mutual respect."
