Trump: Iran is a Tough Country
In an interview with a U.S. news network, Donald Trump engaged in renewed rhetoric against Iran, boasting about his country's military power while describing Iran as a "tough" nation.

Tehran - BORNA - U.S. President Donald Trump, speaking to NBC News, made provocative remarks and intervened in Iran's internal affairs by promising support to rioters, claiming: "Well, we supported them! Look, Iran is in turmoil now because of us. We went in; we took out their nuclear weapons."

Trump, who adheres to a "Peace through Strength" agenda and continues to stir tensions in the region, alluded once again to the aggressive strikes against Iranian nuclear facilities in June, claiming: "We want peace in the Middle East. If I hadn't taken out their nuclear weapon—think about it—if we hadn't taken out that nuclear weapon, we wouldn't have peace in the Middle East, because the Arab countries could never have done it. They were very, very afraid of Iran."

Continuing his baseless claims regarding Iran’s neighbors, the U.S. President added: "They are not afraid of Iran anymore. We destroyed them. Those beautiful B-2 bombers. One of them is right here, that beautiful little model—I mean those beautiful B-2 bombers that went in there and hit their target. If that hadn't happened, they would have had a nuclear weapon within a month. It was a major threat. They can't have a nuclear weapon now, anyway."

In his remarks, Trump acknowledged that "Iran is a tough country."

Economic Outlook and Relations with China

The U.S. President further told NBC that 2026 is a better year: "You know, we spent hundreds of billions of dollars on this country. Actually, trillions have been spent. We’ve spent $18 trillion in the country. We’ve created factories, companies, and thousands of jobs across the nation. No one has seen anything like this before." He noted that he had spoken with Chinese President Xi Jinping about various issues, particularly the economy.

Xi Jinping to Visit U.S. in Late 2026 Trump added: "The economy is the relationship between China and America. I am going to China in April, and the Chinese President will come to the U.S. in late 2026. He is coming to the White House. We have a very good relationship. You know, it’s important that we have a good relationship. We are the two most powerful countries in the world. We also talked about customs tariffs for an hour."

Trump continued: "The Chinese are paying a lot of tariffs. It wasn't like this in the past. I am the one who imposed tariffs on China. Our country has gained hundreds of billions, actually trillions of dollars, through tariffs."

Leadership in Artificial Intelligence

Regarding Artificial Intelligence (AI), he stated: "AI is a big deal. AI is perhaps one of the biggest issues—bigger than the internet and bigger than anything else. We are ahead of China by a long shot. We are ahead of everyone."

In another part of his talk, the U.S. President questioned whether China is trying to influence the U.S. elections. While the interviewer noted that foreign governments attempt to influence many things in the country, Trump said: "Let’s ask this question: if China or any other country interferes in our elections, he [Xi] gets involved too. Everyone knows about Russia—they talked about Russia, but it turned out to be a hoax. It was Hunter Biden. It wasn't Russia. Look, we must have honest elections."
