Second Round of Iran-U.S. Negotiations Begins in Geneva
The second round of indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States has commenced at the Omani Embassy in Geneva, mediated by Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi.

Tehran - BORNA - Seyed Abbas Araghchi leads the Iranian diplomatic and expert delegation in these negotiations. He is accompanied by four deputy foreign ministers: Majid Takht-Ravanchi, Kazem Gharibabadi, Hamid Ghanbari, and Esmaeil Baghaei.

The spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Monday that the Iranian negotiating team in this round is a "full team," accompanied by technical, nuclear, and economic experts, as well as legal advisors.

It is worth noting that the U.S. delegation in the Geneva talks is headed by Steve Witkoff. Additionally, as in the Muscat negotiations, Jared Kushner—the son-in-law and senior advisor to Donald Trump, who is considered a close associate of the U.S. President—is present in the discussions.

Before the start of the negotiations, Seyed Abbas Araghchi discussed certain details with his Omani counterpart at the Omani embassy in Geneva. On Monday, the Iranian Foreign Minister held separate meetings and consultations with Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and Badr Albusaidi, the Foreign Minister of Oman.

During the meeting with Badr Albusaidi, Araghchi conveyed Tehran's viewpoints regarding the ideas presented by the Americans through the Omani Foreign Minister during Ali Larijani's visit to Muscat. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Araghchi explained the Islamic Republic's viewpoints and considerations regarding "nuclear issues and the lifting of sanctions" during the meeting with his Omani counterpart.

Furthermore, according to a report by Russia's RIA Novosti news agency, Trump's representative, Steve Witkoff, arrived in Geneva, the venue for the negotiations, on Tuesday morning.

According to Iranian officials, the main focus in this round of negotiations is Iran's nuclear issue and the lifting of U.S. sanctions against Tehran; regional and missile issues are not on the agenda.
