Iran’s Ambassador in Minsk Stresses Right to Self-Defense Under Article 51 of UN Charter
Iran’s ambassador to Belarus stressed the country’s legal right to defend itself under Article 51 of the UN Charter in response to the aggression by the United States and Israel.

Tehran - BORNA - Alireza Sanai, Iran’s ambassador in Minsk, explained the latest developments in Iran during a press conference, including the US and Israeli aggression against the country, the martyrdom of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, and the regional and global consequences of these events.

Referring to US and Israeli attacks on civilian centers, including the killing of 165 students at a school in Minab as well as other Iranian civilians, he emphasized Iran’s legitimate right to self-defense based on Article 51 of the United Nations Charter.

The Iranian diplomat also discussed the reasons and motivations behind the US and Israeli attacks on Iran, as well as the determination of the Iranian people, leaders, and armed forces to resist and stand firm until victory in the war.

The ambassador further elaborated on the process of selecting the new Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the mechanism through which the Iranian government would assist Belarusian citizens in leaving Iran if requested by the Belarusian side, and the extent of damage inflicted on Iran as well as the losses suffered by the United States and Israel.

According to Iran’s embassy, a number of Belarusian officials also visited the embassy to sign the condolence book for the martyrdom of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
