Iran Oil Ministry Rejects US ‘Sanctions Relief’ Claim as Market Manipulation
Tehran - BORNA - The U.S. Treasury suggested that sanctions on Iran’s oil exports could be temporarily eased to calm rising concerns in global energy markets.
In response, a spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Oil dismissed the claim as a “psychological operation,” stressing that it does not reflect the reality of Iran’s oil situation.
The spokesperson said Iran currently has no surplus crude oil stored offshore or available for immediate sale in international markets, contradicting the premise of the U.S. statement.
He added that such remarks are aimed solely at creating امید among buyers and managing market sentiment, emphasizing that Washington is attempting to control oil prices through narrative rather than actual policy changes.
Iranian officials maintain that the claim is part of broader efforts to contain price volatility amid ongoing regional tensions.
