Iranian Army: Iran Navy Forces USS Abraham Lincoln to Change Course
Tehran - BORNA - The Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran announced that in the latest combat exercise of the Navy of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the missile and control capabilities of the Navy over the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz were once again put on display. The operation included the launch of shore-to-sea cruise missiles toward the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, which resulted in the repositioning of the U.S. fleet.
Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, Commander of the Navy of the Army, who personally issued the order for this operation, described the action as a sign of Iran’s firm determination to defend its maritime borders and respond to potential threats from enemies.
According to the Army’s public relations office, the Navy’s Qadir shore-to-sea cruise missiles targeted the hostile U.S. Abraham Lincoln strike group and forced it to change position.
Rear Admiral Irani, while honoring the memory of the martyrs of the destroyer Dena, said: the Navy of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran, with firm determination and the absolute maritime dominance of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Persian Gulf, smart control of the Strait of Hormuz, and firm monitoring of the movement of military and hostile fleets north of the 10-degree latitude, will not stop until avenging the blood of our dear martyrs.
He added: like Mount Dena, we stand firm for the pride and grandeur of Iran and Iranians, to be the hope of the oppressed and a thorn in the eyes of enemies. The performance and movements of the hostile Abraham Lincoln strike group are constantly being monitored by the Navy of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and as soon as the hostile strike group comes within the range of missile systems, it will be targeted by crushing strikes of the Navy.
