Pezeshkian Tells Pakistan PM U.S. Contradictions Deepen Iran’s Distrust Amid Ongoing Attacks
Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan, held a phone conversation to exchange views on regional developments and the consequences of the military aggression by the Israeli regime and the United States against Iran.

Tehran - BORNA - The Iranian president, during the call, thanked the Muslim people of Pakistan for their support and solidarity with Iran in the face of U.S. and Israeli military aggression, and appreciated the good offices of some friendly and neighboring countries, including Pakistan, to stop the imposed war.

Pezeshkian, expressing regret over the use of the territory of some Muslim countries by aggressors to carry out attacks against Iran, emphasized that Iran’s defensive response to the origin of these attacks is natural, while the Islamic Republic of Iran considers Muslim countries as its brothers and does not wish for even a single Muslim to be harmed.

The President, stressing the malicious intentions of the Israeli regime to expand the war to countries in the region, warned that Muslim countries must be vigilant to ensure that their territory is not used by aggressors to attack other Muslim countries.

Referring to the shared religious and human ties among Muslim countries, Pezeshkian stated that there exists a vast capacity among Muslim nations to confront common threats, particularly those arising from the aggression of the Israeli regime.

The President also, while thanking Pakistan for its mediating efforts to halt aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran, stated that Iran has been subjected to military aggression twice in the midst of dialogue and the diplomatic process during nuclear negotiations. He added that, despite claims and promises by U.S. officials not to target economic and energy infrastructure, such centers are now being struck, and that these contradictory statements and actions have certainly increased Iran’s distrust toward the aggressor United States.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan, for his part, reiterated his country’s principled position in condemning military aggression against Iran, particularly strongly condemning the recent attacks by the Israeli regime on Iran’s economic infrastructure in the cities of Ahvaz and Isfahan, and emphasized the full solidarity of the people and government of Pakistan with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Shehbaz Sharif also thanked the arrangements and measures taken by the competent authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran to ensure the safe passage of commercial vessels of some countries, including Pakistan, through the Strait of Hormuz, expressing hope that this process will continue.

The Prime Minister, acknowledging the atmosphere of complete distrust between Iran and the United States resulting from Washington’s approach, stressed that any dialogue must take place in an environment of trust and mutual respect, and that this requires an end to military aggression and the killing of Iranian officials and civilians.

Sharif also expressed hope that he would be able to visit Tehran in the near future following the end of the conflict.
