Ravanchi Slams European Support for U.S.-Israeli Aggression Against Iran
Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Majid Takht-Ravanchi, has strongly criticized several European nations for standing on the "wrong side of history" by failing to condemn—and in some cases supporting—the military aggression against the Iranian people.

Tehran - BORNA - Takht-Ravanchi addressed a gathering of foreign ambassadors and heads of international missions in Tehran on Thursday. He detailed the scale of crimes committed by the U.S. and the Zionist regime during the "40-day imposed war," describing the offensive as a flagrant violation of international law and a clear instance of war crimes.

Aggression Amid Diplomacy

The Deputy Foreign Minister noted that Washington launched its second wave of military strikes while diplomatic negotiations were actively underway in Geneva. He highlighted the martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader, senior military commanders, and innocent civilians as a profound loss caused by these attacks.

"The loss of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution was a massive blow to the nation," Ravanchi stated. "However, Iran’s powerful armed forces, backed by the noble Iranian people, imposed a strategic defeat on the U.S. and Israeli aggressors, forcing them to fundamentally alter their strategic outlook toward Iran."

Iran’s 10-Point Peace Proposal

Referring to Iran’s responsible approach toward the current ceasefire, Ravanchi confirmed that Tehran’s 10-point peace proposal has been accepted as the primary basis for upcoming negotiations.

While welcoming diplomacy, he issued a stern warning: "Iran welcomes dialogue, but not one based on misinformation, deception, or as a pretext for future aggression. We do not seek a ceasefire that allows the enemy to rearm and strike again. We have clearly informed our partners that this situation will not be repeated without solid guarantees."

Regional Defense and ‘Greater Israel’ Schemes

The senior diplomat also addressed the broader geopolitical aims of the U.S. and the Zionist regime, including the pursuit of the "Greater Israel" project to dominate West Asia.

Clarifying Iran's military actions, Ravanchi emphasized Tehran's "Good Neighborliness" policy. "Iran’s defensive operations should not be perceived as an attack on neighboring countries. Our strikes were strictly targeted at U.S. bases and facilities within those territories that were actively used to launch military assaults against Iran," he explained.

A War Against Global Hegemony

Ravanchi concluded by asserting Iran's inherent right to self-defense under the UN Charter. "We fought against two major nuclear powers and a massive global military force. We lost great figures and innocent children, but our resistance was not only for Iran; it was to defend the interests of all regional countries against Israeli expansionism and warmongering."

He emphasized that the threat posed by the Zionist regime is not limited to Iran but represents a direct danger to the stability and security of the entire region.
