IRGC: Any Military Approach to Strait of Hormuz Will Be Deemed a Ceasefire Violation
The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a stern warning on Sunday, stating that the Strait of Hormuz is under the "smart management" of the Islamic Republic and that any approach by foreign military vessels will be treated as a direct violation of the current ceasefire.

Tehran - BORNA - The IRGC Public Relations Office released Statement No. 59, clarifying the operational status of the strategic waterway:

"In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

The IRGC Navy declares that, contrary to the false claims made by certain enemy officials, the Strait of Hormuz remains under smart control and management. While open to the 'innocent passage' of civilian vessels under specific regulations, any attempt by military vessels to approach the Strait—under any title or pretext—will be considered a violation of the ceasefire. Such actions will be met with a severe and decisive military response."

The statement serves to debunk recent rhetoric from Washington regarding the "reopening" of the Strait through force. By distinguishing between civilian and military traffic, the IRGC has reinforced Tehran's position: while international trade is permitted under Iranian oversight, the presence of hostile naval assets in the vicinity of the waterway is a red line.

Military analysts note that this declaration adds significant pressure on the U.S. administration following the inconclusive talks in Islamabad. It effectively places the responsibility for maintaining the fragile two-week truce on the movements of U.S. and allied naval forces in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
