Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan: Diplomacy Has Been Given a Chance
The Iranian Ambassador to Islamabad announced that following Iran’s powerful defense, the ceasefire in Lebanon, and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a significant window of opportunity has been opened for diplomacy.

Tehran - BORNA - Ambassador Reza Amiri-Moghaddam stated on Friday that this diplomatic opening, facilitated through Pakistan's initiatives, paves the way for comprehensive efforts to establish collective peace and security.

The Ambassador added that mutual trust, goodwill, the avoidance of hypocrisy, and cooperation among regional countries are the essential elements required to bridge existing gaps.

These remarks come as the ceasefire in Lebanon entered its implementation phase early Friday morning. In a corresponding move, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced: "Following the declaration of the ceasefire in Lebanon, the passage of all commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz is declared completely free for the remainder of the ceasefire period."

The impact of this de-escalation was immediately felt in global markets. The Wall Street Journal reported a decline in oil prices following Iran’s announcement regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. Additionally, the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) reported that Brent crude fell by approximately 10% following the confirmation that the vital maritime chokepoint had been fully reopened.
