Islamabad: We Emphasize the Necessity of Extending the Iran-U.S. Ceasefire
Tehran - BORNA - Mohammad Ishaq Dar, the Foreign Minister of Pakistan, stated on Tuesday evening: "We focus on dialogue as the best way to achieve lasting regional peace and stability."
As reported by Al Jazeera, the Pakistani Foreign Minister emphasized: "We stress the need for communication between the United States and Iran and the exploration of a ceasefire extension."
These remarks by Ishaq Dar come as the Islamic Republic of Iran’s stance on continuing negotiations with the U.S. remains unchanged from the position previously declared by the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson.
While some outlets, citing American and Pakistani media, have claimed that an Iranian advance delegation has been dispatched to Islamabad, some investigations show that these reports are groundless and have no basis in reality.
Pakistan's efforts to host another round of negotiations continue; however, Iran has yet to announce its participation due to Washington’s breach of faith regarding the ceasefire terms, including the ongoing blockade of Iranian ports.
It is noteworthy that Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament and head of the country's negotiating team, stated in a message on X (formerly Twitter) that Iran will not negotiate under an atmosphere of threats.
