Turkish and Pakistani Foreign Ministers Discuss Iran-U.S. Negotiations
Tehran - BORNA - A source within the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan discussed the latest developments in the negotiations between Washington and Tehran with his Pakistani counterpart, Mohammad Ishaq Dar.
Anadolu Agency reported that the source emphasized that Fidan and Dar consulted on the Tehran-Washington talks and ongoing efforts to reach a middle-ground solution.
According to a proposal by the Pakistani side, the second round of Iran-U.S. negotiations was scheduled to be held in Islamabad on Monday. However, Iran declined to participate due to what it described as American excessive demands and ceasefire violations. The Iranian Foreign Ministry stated that the Islamic Republic was not the initiator of this imposed war and that all of Iran's actions have been in line with the inherent right to legitimate defense against the military aggression of the United States and the Zionist regime.
In response to another question about the possibility of another round of negotiations with the United States, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson stated: "Diplomacy is a tool for securing national interests and security; whenever we conclude that the necessary and logical grounds are prepared to use this tool to realize national interests and consolidate the achievements of the Iranian nation in thwarting the enemies' sinister goals, we will take action."
