Iranian Ambassador Thanks Pakistan for Facilitating Iran-U.S. Negotiations
Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan expressed deep appreciation for the tireless efforts of Pakistani officials in facilitating, coordinating, and organizing the arrangements for negotiations between Iran and the United States, stating that their professionalism and commitment are truly commendable.

Tehran - BORNA - Reza Amiri-Moghaddam, the Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, released a message on the X social media platform thanking Pakistan for its mediation and facilitation of talks following the ceasefire in the illegal U.S.-Zionist war against Iran.

He wrote: "Diplomats, as trusted symbols of international coordination, are the architects of peace who bear the responsibility of navigating the delicate complexities of international relations through the patient art of dialogue, empathy, and mutual understanding."

Amiri-Moghaddam further stated: "I would like to sincerely and deeply thank His Excellency Mohammad Ishaq Dar, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, as well as the experienced, competent, and professional diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan for their tireless efforts in facilitating, coordinating, and meticulously preparing arrangements for delegations and talks, often long before the negotiations themselves begin."

The Iranian Ambassador added: "Their sincere efforts translate political will and principled determination into the practical paths and arrangements necessary for any diplomatic process to take shape. This is diplomacy in its truest sense—not merely words, but that silent and persistent effort that makes dialogue possible and peace attainable; their professionalism and commitment are profoundly worthy of appreciation."

Following the efforts to establish a ceasefire between Iran and the U.S., which was announced in the early hours of April 7 (18 Farvardin), Islamabad hosted the first round of negotiations between high-ranking Iranian and American delegations.

However, according to the Iranian side, despite some understandings reached, the talks remained inconclusive due to the significant gap between perspectives on several key issues.

Pakistan—which recently hosted Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi for consultations on bilateral and regional issues and the ceasefire status—has been actively working to convene a second round of talks.

Notably, General Asim Munir, Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff, has also conducted visits to both Iran and the United States to maintain the ceasefire and ensure the continuity of negotiations.

Despite these efforts, Iranian officials have declared that they will not participate in negotiations under an atmosphere of threats and while the illegal maritime blockade remains in place.

Nevertheless, the exchange of messages and indirect contacts through Pakistan continues between the two parties. Previously, Iran’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations had stated that the possibility of considering another round of negotiations would be provided as soon as the maritime blockade is lifted.
