Nasirzadeh: Iran to Deploy New Missiles in Response to Enemy Adventurism
Iran’s Defense Minister said on Monday that the country possesses new generations of missiles with significantly greater capabilities than those used during the recent 12-day conflict, warning that Tehran will not hesitate to employ them should Israel attempt another act of aggression.

Tehran - BORNA - Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh, Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, made the remarks on the sidelines of a meeting with foreign military attachés in Tehran, held on the occasion of “Defense Industry Day.”

“In the 12-day war we faced a fully backed power. The Islamic Republic of Iran was not confronting the Zionist regime alone; the entire logistical, intelligence and operational support of the United States was involved in that war,” Nasirzadeh said.

He emphasized that Iran’s Armed Forces relied solely on domestically-produced systems: “During the 12-day Sacred Defense, not a single element came from outside. Everything used in the battlefield was produced by our own defense industries. The world witnessed that our missiles struck their intended targets and inflicted heavy damage on the Zionist enemy.”

Nasirzadeh pointed to what he called Israel’s strict censorship of battlefield losses: “Although their media censorship prevented full coverage of the missile impacts, information gradually leaked out, proving the capabilities of our Armed Forces. We now possess missiles with far stronger features than those employed during that war, and if the Zionist enemy embarks on any new adventurism, we will certainly use them.”

The defense chief underlined that all of Israel’s advanced air defense systems — including THAAD, Patriot MIM-104, Iron Dome and Arrow — were activated during the 12-day conflict: “Despite all these systems, the Zionist regime only intercepted around 40 percent of our missiles in the early days. By the final days, about 90 percent of our missiles were hitting their targets. This showed both our improved operational experience and the decline in their defensive capacity. Had the war continued, the upper hand would have unquestionably belonged to the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

Nasirzadeh further stressed the role of defense diplomacy as a peaceful means of military engagement: “We maintain constructive defense diplomacy with friendly states and currently enjoy good relations with the majority of countries worldwide. Strengthening defense diplomacy remains a key strategic priority of the Ministry of Defense.”
