Iran–U.S. Nuclear Talks Pause for Consultations, Set to Resume Later
Indirect nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States were temporarily paused on Thursday to allow for internal consultations and a brief recess, and are expected to resume in the coming hours.

Tehran - BORNA - The second day of talks—mediated by Oman—began Thursday morning with renewed bilateral meetings between the U.S. delegation and the Omani side at the Omani Embassy in Geneva.

As he headed to the venue earlier in the day, Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al-Busaidi signaled optimism when asked by a reporter whether he was hopeful about the outcome of the negotiations.

The third round of indirect talks between Iran and the United States has been taking place at the residence of Oman’s foreign minister in Geneva. Delegations paused the discussions for rest, internal consultations, and coordination with their respective capitals. The talks are scheduled to resume later.

Al-Busaidi later said, “Today in Geneva, we had creative and positive discussions.” He added that the U.S. and Iranian negotiators have temporarily halted the session for a break and will reconvene in a few hours, expressing hope that further progress can be achieved.
